The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Berks County in eastern Pennsylvania...
  Lehigh County in eastern Pennsylvania...
  Northampton County in eastern Pennsylvania...

* Until 900 PM EDT.

* At 501 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Over one inch of rain has 
  already fallen in a short amount of time with more rain coming. 
  Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly in the areas of 
  heaviest rain.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
  Allentown, Reading, Easton, Bethlehem, Forks, Emmaus, Wyomissing,
  Northampton, Wilson, Hellertown, Nazareth, Bangor, Birdsboro,
  Kutztown, Hamburg, Slatington, Fleetwood, Laureldale, Pen Argyl and
  Wind Gap.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

BERKS...LEHIGH AND NORTHAMPTON COUNTIES...

At 558 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated up to two inches of rain from 
earlier thunderstorms. Flash flooding continues to be a threat 
across the warned area.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Allentown, Reading, Easton, Bethlehem, Forks, Emmaus, Wyomissing,
Northampton, Wilson, Hellertown, Nazareth, Bangor, Birdsboro,

COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 900 PM EDT...

Areas of flooding continue on local creeks and streams, including 
the Little Lehigh near Allentown, in addition to roadway flooding in 
some areas. The Flash Flood Warning will be allowed to expire and be 
replaced by an Areal Flood Warning.
