The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  South central Knox County in east Tennessee...

* Until 845 PM EDT.

* At 546 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have 
  already fallen in the past hour. Flash flooding is expected to 
  begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Knoxville, Alcoa, Louisville, Lake Forest and Bearden. 

Additional rainfall amounts of one inch or more is possible in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM EDT FOR
SOUTH CENTRAL KNOX COUNTY...

At 628 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated the thunderstorms that 
produced the heavy rainfall had ended with only light rain over the 
warned area. One to two inches of rain has been estimated to have 
fallen since 500 pm. Flash flooding may still be occurring in the 
warning area.

Some locations that may still have flooding include...
Knoxville, Alcoa, Louisville, Lake Forest and Bearden. 

Additional rainfall amounts of one quarter inch is possible in the 
warned area.
