.Overview...Isolated heavy precipitation yesterday has caused some
area rivers to rise further. Mainly dry weather is expected through 
most of Monday, before the next chance for significant precipitation 
returns Monday night into Tuesday. The National Weather Service 
will continue to monitor the situation.

.SHORT TERM...(Today through Sunday)

No issues during the short term as one of the nicest weekends we
have seen all year is expected, with highs near 80 and dewpoints
back down into the mid 50s to lower 60s with mostly clear skies,
MN/WI summer perfection!

Main change we've seen over the last 24 hours is with the shortwave
moving across southwest NoDak on water vapor overnight. Everything,
including the ECMWF is in line with this shortwave shearing out and
being of little consequence for us today. In addition, weak dry air
advection on light north winds through the day will help suppress
the instability south into IA and southern WI, so we'll have a
nice day with lower humidity and no MCVs to try and forecast the
placement and movement of.

These nice weather conditions will continue for tonight and Sunday
as high pressure slowly slides by to our north. In fact, it's
windows open type weather with dewpoints remaining comfortable and
lows tonight getting down into the 50s and lower 60s, with highs
only topping out around 80. The one thing to watch for precip is out
in western MN Sunday afternoon. They'll be getting into return flow
and better moisture by the afternoon, with some instability
building. The large scale forcing in terms of the LLJ is way out in
the central/western Dakotas, but the slight increase in dewpoints
will result in enough instability developing out by the SoDak border
Sunday afternoon that you can't completely rule out an isolated
shower developing out there.

.LONG TERM...(Sunday night through Friday)

The longer term concerns remain timing of next short wave trough
for midweek period and then warming trend into next weekend.

Latest model trends continue show increasing moisture and
instability into at least the MN portion of the CWA during the day
Monday. The ECMWF has become more progressive with the wave
developing Tue/Wed and has pretty much switched places with the
GFS. The 00z GFS is now the slower/stronger short wave trough that
moves into the area Tuesday and deepens/closes an upper
circulation over the Great Lakes into Thursday. We will need to
hold onto the higher chance PoPs for the area during this period.
12z NAEFS standardized anomalies bring 2 to 3 standard deviation
above normal PW's back into the region. CIPS analog- based severe
probabilities max out on Tuesday and shifts to the east on
Wednesday, which seems to match current ECMWF. Still, this looks
to be the best severe threat these two days, along with the
possibility of heavy rain.

Following this system, we see the ECMWF, and to some degree the
GFS, begin to build heights to the intermountain west and Central
Plains. This leaves the northern states near the main polar jet
and possibly close to any frontal boundary into next weekend.
This would favor more MCS development/ridge riders across the
northern states. We will need to monitor these trends for the
possibility of the increasing threat of severe weather and heavy
rainfall once again.

Overall temperatures trending a little below normal to start with
the trough moving through. Then trending warmer, perhaps a few
degrees above normal into next weekend, barring widespread MCS
development.

to be gone by 18z. Then it's benign weather for a change, with
