Eastern Uvalde County in south central Texas... * Until 245 PM CDT. * At 1145 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across central Uvalde County moving to the east and northeast. Over three inches of rain have already fallen over the central part of the county and expected to expand to the east. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly over parts of eastern Uvalde County. * Some locations that will experience flooding include... Uvalde, Sabinal, Knippa, Utopia, Concan and Garner State Park. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks. A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
