WEDNESDAY FOR NORTHERN DES MOINES AND LOUISA COUNTIES...

At 646 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain moving back across the warned area. Up to around one inch of 
rain has already fallen south of Wapello, to Yarmouth, to Wyman. 
Additional thunderstorms with heavy rain over 1 inch in less than an 
hour will impact the warned area through 8 pm. Flash flooding is 
expected to begin shortly.

Smith Creek, and other tributary creeks of the Lower Iowa River.

At 743 PM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding with
water over Flint Bottom Road northwest of West Burlington. Flash 
flooding is likely Flint Creek into northern Burlington.

At 900 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported water covering portions 
of 100th street in Wapello and County Road X37. Up to two inches of 
rain have already fallen. Moderate to locally heavy rain will persist
through the late evening, with additional rainfall around 1 to 1.5 
inches possible by late tonight.

NORTHERN DES MOINES AND LOUISA COUNTIES...

At 1022 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated moderate rain across the
area. Additional storms with heavy rain were forming back across
southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri, and are likely to move 
across the warned area overnight bringing a renewed threat of 
flash flooding. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen in
some locations. With the saturated ground any heavy rain will go 
straight into runoff and result in flash flooding. If you live
in or near a flood prone area, please be sure to monitor conditions
tonight and be prepared to quickly seek higher ground.
