...Critical Fire Weather Conditions this morning for Portions of 
Interior Northern California...Another round of dry breezy weather 
late Saturday through early Monday...

.Breezy north to east winds continue this morning and humidity 
recovery over night was quite low. This combination of wind and 
low RH will keep fire weather conditions critical this morning. 
The winds will decrease through the morning hours remaining breezy
the longest over the Sierra and over the Sierra foothills before 
finally dropping down all areas by this afternoon. A weak system 
passing to the north of the state Saturday will bring another 
round of breezy north to east winds Saturday night through early 
Monday. With RH expected to remain low, a fire weather watch has 
been issued for late Saturday evening through early Monday.

...Lighter winds this morning but still very dry...Another round 
of dry breezy weather late Saturday through early Monday...

.Winds are much lighter this morning over northern California with
only a few locations showing gusty winds. The winds will continue
to decrease through the morning hours dropping down to mainly
light most areas by this afternoon. Even with the lighter winds
humidity values will remain quite dry. A weak system passing to 
the north of the state Saturday will bring another round of breezy
north to east winds Saturday night through early Monday. With RH 
expected to remain low, a fire weather watch has been issued for 
late Saturday evening through early Monday.

.SYNOPSIS...
Dry and mild weather continues with periods of breezy north to
east wind through Friday morning leading to elevated to critical
fire weather conditions.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
High amplitude upper ridging, extending all the way to the Arctic
Ocean, continues along 140W as long wave trough is situated over
the CONUS. Surface high pressure extends from EPAC through OR into
the Great Basin. KMFR-KSAC pressure gradient around 10 mb this
morning. Breezy northerly wind will continue today with wind
speeds of 10-20 mph and local gusts up to 30 mph, strongest in
the northern and western portions of the Central Valley, extending
into the Coastal Range. Locally gusty northeast wind also present
this morning over ridges and through favorably oriented canyons
of the eastern foothills, extending to the Sierra Nevada crest.
Pressure gradient forecast to weaken some this afternoon. High
temperatures today will be around 5 to 10 degrees above normal.

Wednesday's weather expected to be similar to today with a little
less wind. Upper ridge builds inland Wednesday night into Thursday
as disturbance drops into the Great Basin. Pressure gradient and
thus north to east wind strengthens again over Interior NorCal during
this time. Fire weather conditions expected to become critical
attm. Gusty northeasterly wind forecast in the eastern foothills
and west slopes of the Northern Sierra Nevada early Thursday
through early Friday with local gusts up to 50 mph possible.
Pressure gradient decreases during the day Friday with lighter
wind extending into Saturday. High temperatures will continue
upwards of 10 degrees above average with 70s in the Central Valley
and 50s to lower 70s for the mountains and foothills. Overnight
lows will be chilly in the wind-sheltered mountain valleys with
teens and lower 20s. Light wind with significantly lower dewpoints
Friday and Saturday will allow overnight lows to drop in the mid
30s to lower 40s for the Central Valley.

A ridge of high pressure will remain a fixture in the forecast,
resulting in dry conditions and above normal temperatures.
Temperatures will trend upward slightly as the ridge axis
gradually shifts inland Sunday into Monday. Daytime highs are
anticipated to be in the 70s across the Valley, with mid 50s to
mid 70s over the mountains.
