The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a Wind Advisory...which is in effect until 9 PM MDT this evening. The High Wind Warning has been cancelled. * Impacts/Timing: Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with frequent wind gusts up to 40 mph could cause trees to snap, especially in the flathead valley. Strong northeasterly winds will create choppy conditions over Flathead Lake. * Winds: Sustained east-northeasteast 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph are likely through early evening, especially in the vicinity of Kalispell. Winds will slowly decrease this evening. * Wave heights: 2 to 4 feet possible over the open waters of Flathead Lake. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Note...The experimental wave height forecasts are representative of the mid lake waters and downwind shores.
