The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northeastern Clarke County in southwestern Alabama...
* Until 1145 PM CDT.
* At 546 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
very heavy rain across the warned area. 2 to 3 inches of rain has
quickly fallen in the warned area, and an additional 1 to 2 inches
will be possible. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Thomasville, Grove Hill, Whatley and Fulton.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flash flooding of
small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and
underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

NORTHEASTERN CLARKE COUNTY...
At 612 PM CDT, Clarke county emergency management reported flash
flooding over the intersection of Alabama state highway 154 and
Dummy Line Road southwest of Thomasville.
At 550 PM CDT, Clarke county emergency management reported flash
flooding on County Road 44, or Tallahatta Springs Road west of
Thomasville.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Thomasville, Grove Hill, Whatley and Fulton.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM CDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN CLARKE COUNTY...
At 630 PM CDT, Clarke county emergency management reported flash
flooding along several intersections in Grove Hill, especially along
Church street where around 6 inches of water was flowing over the
intersection with Foscue avenue.
At 625 PM CDT, broadcast media relayed reports via social media of
flash flooding over Megginson Road near Thomasville.
At 640 PM CDT, National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated that
showers and thunderstorms were decreasing in intensity over the
warned area, but a large area of moderate rainfall continued to
develop over much of central Clarke county.
Although rainfall was decreasing in intensity, excessive runoff
continues to result in flash flooding in the warned area.
