* Flash Flood Warning for...
Vermilion County in east central Illinois...
* Until 615 PM CDT
* At 312 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned
area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen. Flash
flooding is expected to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Danville, Hoopeston, Westville, Tilton, Catlin, Oakwood, Rossville,
Potomac, Rankin, Fithian, Belgium, Muncie, Bismarck, Henning,
Collison, Vermilion County Airport, Middle Fork Wildlife Area,
Armstrong, Alvin and Kickapoo State Park.
This includes Interstate 74 between mile markers 200 and 220.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM CDT FOR
VERMILION COUNTY...
At 503 PM CDT, emergency management reported roads on the north side
of Hoopeston were flooded and a viaduct on IL-119, southwest of
Alvin, was flooded and closed to traffic. Up to three inches of rain
has already fallen and up to a quarter of an inch of additional
rainfall is possible.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Danville, Hoopeston, Westville, Tilton, Catlin, Oakwood, Rossville,
Potomac, Rankin, Fithian, Belgium, Muncie, Bismarck, Henning,
Collison, Vermilion County Airport, Middle Fork Wildlife Area,
