The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Montgomery County in southeastern Kansas... * Until 745 AM CDT Wednesday. * At 1144 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Major flash flooding is already occurring! This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Northern Montgomery County, especially Independence! This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! * Some locations that will experience flooding include... Coffeyville, Independence, Cherryvale, Caney, Dearing, Elk City, Tyro, Liberty, Havana, Bolton, Sycamore, Elk City Lake, Elk City State Park, Independence Airport and Coffeyville Airport.
