Labette County in southeastern Kansas... * Until 645 AM CDT Wednesday. * At 1049 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain spreading southeast across Western Labette County where 3 to 5 inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly, especially in Western Labette County. * Some locations that will experience flooding include... Parsons, Oswego, Chetopa, Altamont, Edna, Mound Valley, Bartlett, Labette, Parsons Tri City Airport, Angola, Dennis and Big Hill Lake. Additional rainfall amounts from 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. The thunderstorms that are moving southeast into Labette County have caused major flash flooding in Northern Montgomery County where many rescues have been required. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flash flooding. Never drive through flooded roads or highways, especially at night!
