The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Bexar County in south central Texas...
* Until 100 AM CDT
* At 1000 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain have
already fallen from near Alamo Heights northward to Hollywood
Park. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
San Antonio, Schertz, Universal City, Live Oak, Selma, San Antonio
Int Airport, Randolph AFB, Leon Valley, Helotes, Kirby, Alamo
Heights, Windcrest, Terrell Hills, Shavano Park, Hollywood Park,
Olmos Park, Lackland AFB, Government Canyon State Natural Area,
Converse and Castle Hills.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 100 AM CDT FOR
CENTRAL BEXAR COUNTY...
At 1206 AM CDT, Doppler radar continues to indicate isolated
thunderstorms moving into the San Antonio area. Rain rates have
diminishes the past hour, however, additional one inch of rainfall
is possible with new storms moving in from the southern portion of
the county.
Some locations that will continue to experience flooding include...
San Antonio, Schertz, Universal City, Live Oak, Selma, San Antonio
Int Airport, Randolph AFB, Leon Valley, Helotes, Kirby, Alamo
Heights, Windcrest, Terrell Hills, Shavano Park, Hollywood Park,
Olmos Park, Lackland AFB, Government Canyon State Natural Area,
Converse and Castle Hills.
