The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northern Linn County in east central Iowa...

* Until 615 PM CDT.
    
* At 549 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a 
  tornado was located just south of Lafayette, or 9 miles north of 
  Cedar Rapids, moving north at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
  Paris around 605 PM CDT.
  Coggon and Troy Mills around 610 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Buffalo Creek Park, Pinicon Ridge Park, Lafayette and Linn  County
Fairgrounds.

This includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 27 and 31.

At 606 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Paris, or 18 miles north of Cedar Rapids, moving
north at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR NORTH CENTRAL LINN COUNTY HAS EXPIRED...
                
The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer appears capable of producing a tornado.
Therefore, the warning has been allowed to expire.

However, as the storm moves into Delaware county, it will be 
monitored closely for potential stregthening.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for northeastern
and east central Iowa.
