At 120 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Millinocket, moving east at 35 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail are possible with this storm. Locations impacted include... Millinocket, East Millinocket, Medway, Sherman, Reed Plantation, Stacyville, Macwahoc, Grindstone, Silver Ridge, Benedicta, Monarda and Molunkus. This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 between mile makers 248 and 264. State Highway 11 near Millinocket, and Grindstone and near Sherman. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
