SOUTHERN MITCHELL AND FLOYD COUNTIES...

Severe thunderstorms with torrential rains are moving through this 
area. A quick 1 to 2 inches of rain may have already fallen which 
will lead to quick flash flooding in parts of the area.

Watch for area streams and creeks to flood quickly as well.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Charles City, Rockford, Rudd, Floyd, Marble Rock, Colwell, and 
Orchard.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches is possible.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM CDT FOR
SOUTHERN MITCHELL AND FLOYD COUNTIES...

Emergency management reported flash flooding in various parts of 
Floyd County Iowa and there is water over parts of Highway 218 near 
mile marker 225. Law enforcement has reported secondary roads washed 
out and lots of high water around the region.

While the heaviest rain has shifted out of the area, the flooding 
will be slow to recede given how much rain has fallen this week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
