* Until 715 PM PDT
* At 318 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain east and northeast of Twentynine Palms. In addition,
very strong thunderstorms to the south were producing very heavy
rainfall and are moving north. Flash flooding is occurring or
expected to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding over the next several
hours include...
Highway 62 between Twentynine Palms and Vidal Junction.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are

SOUTHEASTERN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY...
At 515 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain southeast of Vidal Junction...building north. Earlier,
the California Highway Patrol reported flash flooding along Highway
62 near mile marker 52. The warning will continue due to the ongoing
flood cleanup on 62 and increasing flash flood risk near the Vidal
Junction intersection of Highway 95 and Highway 62.

* At 653 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over Vidal Junction. Flash flooding had already been
reported along Highway 62 at Ironage Road east of Twentynine Palms
and also at the junction of Highway 177. More thunderstorms over
Riverside County were also moving north and could worsen the
situation.

Twentynine Palms Airport and Vidal Junction.
