The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona...
  Southern Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...

* Until 1100 PM MST

* At 853 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain just northeast and east of Oro Valley, including 
  Catalina State Park and Oracle Junction. Flash flooding is 
  expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Oracle, Biosphere 2, Saddlebrooke, Catalina State Park, Catalina
  and Catalina Foothills.

This includes the following streams and drainages...Big Wash... 
Esperero Wash...Cañada del Oro...Bird Canyon...Rillito River... 
and Sutherland Wash.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100 PM MST FOR
NORTHEASTERN PIMA AND SOUTHERN PINAL COUNTIES...

At 946 PM MST, storms had weakened considerably near northwest 
portions of the Catalinas. Heavy runoff and potential flash flooding 
will continue from earlier rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches 
across the area.

Some locations that may experience flooding include...Oracle,
Biosphere 2, Saddlebrooke, Catalina State Park, and Catalina.

This includes the following streams and drainages...Big Wash... 
Esperero Wash...Cañada del Oro...Bird Canyon...Rillito River...and 
Sutherland Wash.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of washes
and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well
as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
