The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
East central Cochise County in southeastern Arizona...
* Until 800 PM MST
* At 454 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to
two inches of rain fell earlier in the day northwest of Rucker
Canyon with more heavy rain now occurring with over an inch in 15
minutes. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rucker Canyon and possibly Kuykendall Cut Off Rd, E. Rucker Canyon
Rd and along Turkey Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts of an inch or two are possible in the
warned area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of washes
and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 800 PM MST FOR
EAST CENTRAL COCHISE COUNTY...
At 553 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that the heavy rain has tapered off over the area with areas of
light rain remaining. One to three inches of rain fell within the
warned area in just over an hour. Flash flooding is expected to
continue in this area as a result of this water working its way out
of the mountains.
Normally dry washes and low water crossings may be inundated in the
following locations...Rucker Canyon and possibly Kuykendall Cut Off
Rd, E. Rucker Canyon Rd and along Turkey Creek..
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring
in and near the warned area. If you are in this area move to higher
ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should
take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
