precipitation on Sunday along and west of the mountains and in the
upper deserts. Stronger onshore flow will bring strong gusty
winds to portions of the mountains and deserts with winds
strongest on Sunday. Patchy dense fog is possible near the coast
this morning.Dry with a warming trend for Monday through Thursday
with periods of mostly weak offshore flow with high temperatures

to portions of the mountains and deserts from midday today to late
Sunday night with strongest winds Sunday afternoon into Sunday
night.

The trough will also bring cooling into Sunday with a
chance of mostly light precipitation along and west of the
mountains and in the upper deserts for Sunday into Sunday evening.
The higher resolution models show a band of warm frontal
precipitation moving across southwest California Sunday morning
with the cold front precipitation band moving across the area
Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening. The greater chances for
measurable precipitation will be for areas bordering Los Angeles
with lesser chances farther south. Greatest rainfall amounts are
expected to be on the coastal mountain slopes with one quarter to
one third inch possible of the south slopes of the San Bernardino
County mountains with amounts of a trace to one tenth inch or less
near the coast. Dry and a little warmer for Monday.

.LONG TERM (Tuesday through Friday)...
High pressure aloft near the West Coast and surface high pressure
near the Great Basin will bring dry weather and a warming trend
for Tuesday through Thursday with well above average high
temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday. There will also be
periods of mostly weak gusty northeast winds near the coastal
foothills. A little cooler for Friday as another trough of low
pressure approaches the West Coast.

041000Z...Coast/Valleys...Patchy stratus with bases 500 ft MSL or
less and areas of fog developing over the coastal waters this
morning may reach the coastal airports 14-18Z. CIGS/VIS may be as
low as 100 ft MSL and 1/4 SM at times through 16Z. Low clouds
scattering out by 18Z, though some patchy low clouds may linger
along the immediate coast into the early afternoon. Marine layer
will deepen significantly this evening with bases rising to 1500-
2500 ft MSL as stratus moves inland after 05/02Z. Stratus spreading
into the far inland valleys late tonight into Sunday morning.

Mountains/Deserts...SCT-BKN clouds AOA 20000 ft MSL and unrestricted
vis through this evening. Lower coastal mountain slopes becoming
obscured in clouds/fog late tonight.

Gusty southwest-to west winds with sfc gusts 30-40 KT developing
over the ridges/desert slopes of the mountains and locally into the
deserts after 05/00Z. Areas of MOD-STG UDDFS/LLWS possible over/east
of the mountains tonight.

Patchy dense fog with local vis 1 SM or less possible through mid-
morning. West-northwest wind gusts of 20-30 kt are possible Sunday
night through Monday as an upper-level trough moves across the
region, creating hazardous boating conditions. Scattered showers are
