The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Orange County in southwestern California...
San Bernardino County in southern California...
Riverside County in southern California...
* Until 530 PM PST
* At 230 PM PST, National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
widespread heavy rain across the warned area of Orange County and
the entire Inland Empire. Flash flooding will likely begin shortly.
Rainfall rates of 0.50 to 0.75 inches per hour will occur through 5 pm.
Saturated soils will result in rapid intense urban and small stream
flooding which will be dangerous to vehicles and threaten properties in
low lying areas. There is also a good possibility of debris flows and
land slides.
The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose
materials.

Anaheim, Santa Ana, Riverside, Irvine, San Bernardino, Fontana,
Moreno Valley, Huntington Beach, Garden Grove, Ontario, Corona,
Orange, Fullerton, Costa Mesa and Temecula.
Excessive rainfall over the Blue Cut burn scar will likely result in
debris flow moving through the Cajon drainage. The debris flow can consist
of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM PST FOR
ORANGE...SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE COUNTIES...
At 415 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated widespread heavy rain across
Orange County and the Inland Empire.
Flash flooding is occurring in many areas with some roadways
inundated with water and creeks rapidly filling or leaving their
banks. There have been reports of a high water rescue in Cajon Creek.
Unusual dangerous urban flooding will occur or continue in the flash
flood warned area which includes Temecula, Ontario, Santa Ana, Anaheim
and Irvine.
6 hour rainfall totals of 1.5 to 2.5 inches have occurred in much of
coastal Orange County and much of the west side of the Inland Empire.
Rainfall rates of 0.50 per hour will continue through 530 pm.
Excessive rainfall over the 2016 Blue Cut Fire burn scar will likely
result in Cajon Canyon being impacted with debris flows that can
consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

Moreno Valley, Huntington Beach, Garden Grove, Ontario, Corona,

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR ORANGE...SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE
COUNTIES HAS EXPIRED...
Heavy rain is tapering off in Orange County but areas of heavy rain
continue across the Inland Empire. The threat for flash flooding
has decreased but a new Areal Flood Warning has been issued due to
prolonged excessive runoff from the 1 to 2.5 inches of rain which
occurred in the past 6 hours. The Blue Cut fire scar has reported to have
several mud and rock debris flows in addition to creek flooding.
Additional heavy rain will continue in parts of the Inland Empire
through 8 pm before tapering off. The threat for more heavy showers
exists between 11 pm and 2 am.
Dangers of flooding are much harder to recognize during the night hours.
Many roadways and low lying areas will remain flooding with high water
flows in creeks and streams draining into the Santa Ana and San Margarita
Rivers.
