At 114 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain have decreased significantly across the warned area....however, brief bands of light to moderate rainfall will continue through 230 AM. Flash flooding is expected to continue until the water has a chance to recede. Some locations that will experience flooding include...rural areas south of highway 24 and north of Cripple Creek. The heaviest rain fell in an area extending from 6 miles south of Florissant to 5 miles south of Divide. Radar estimated between 2 and 4 inches of rain has fallen in this area and law enforcement reported highway 67 closed at county road 11 due to high water. Several minor rock slides were also reported along highway 67. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
