THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Winter
Storm Watch...which is in effect from late Wednesday night
through Thursday afternoon.

* LOCATIONS...Northeastern Maryland, northern Delaware,
  southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.

* HAZARD TYPES...Heavy snow.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...Potential for 5 or more inches.

* TIMING...Rain will overspread the area from the west Wednesday
  night and changeover to snow from northwest to southeast early
  Thursday morning. Sleet may mix in briefly during the transition
  from rain to snow. The snow could be heavy at times Thursday
  morning before quickly tapering off from west to east during 
  the afternoon.

* IMPACTS...The heavy snow and poor visibilities at times could
  make travel dangerous. Significant impacts to the Thursday
  morning rush are possible.

* WINDS...North 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* TEMPERATURES...Lower 40s at the onset, falling into the mid 30s
  early Thursday morning.

* VISIBILITIES...1/2 mile or less at times in heavy snow.

EST THURSDAY...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for snow...which is in effect from midnight tonight
to 4 PM EST Thursday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in 
effect.

* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches.

* LOCATIONS...Eastern Pennsylvania and central and northern New 
  Jersey.

* HAZARD TYPES...Heavy snow.

* VISIBILITIES...One quarter mile or less at times.. 

* TIMING...A wintry mix will overspread the area from the west
  near midnight reaching the northern New Jersey coast by 4 am.
  The event will likely begin as snow north of the I-78 corridor.
  Elsewhere, rain will change over to snow from northwest to
  southeast into early Thursday morning. Sleet may mix in briefly
  during the transition from rain to snow. The snow likely will
  be heavy for a time Thursday morning before tapering off
  quickly from west to east during midday or the afternoon.

* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will make many roads potentially
  impassable for several hours during the worst part of the storm
  which should be 5 am to 10 am. There may be widespread power
  outages due to the weight of the snow on tree limbs and power
  lines. The threat for power outages will be less where
  temperatures are mostly below 30 degrees during the snow.  

* WINDS...North 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* TEMPERATURES...falling into the 20s over most of this area
  during the snow before a slight recovery in the afternoon.

* HAZARD TYPES...Heavy snow.

* VISIBILITIES...One quarter mile or less at times.

* TIMING...Rain will overspread the area between midnight and 3 AM
  Thursday and change to sleet and then snow from northwest to
  southeast by dawn Thursday. The snow should be heavy at times
  Thursday morning before quickly tapering off from west to east
  during midday or the afternoon.

* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will make many roads briefly
  impassable and may produce widespread power outages due to the
  weight of the snow on tree limbs and power lines. 

* WINDS...North 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* TEMPERATURES...Falling into the upper 20s to around 30 during
  the snow then a slight afternoon recovery.

* LOCATIONS...a portion of northeast Maryland through central
  Delaware into the southern tip of New Jersey.

* HAZARD TYPES...snow and possibly a period of sleet.

* ACCUMULATIONS...Snow accumulation of 1 to 4 inches.

* VISIBILITIES...One quarter mile or less at times during the
  morning.

* TIMING...heaviest snow should fall sometime between 8 am and
  Noon.

* IMPACTS...The snow will create snow covered roads and possibly
  produce isolated power outages. Gusty winds may lead to blowing
  snow and reduced visibility. 

* WINDS...North 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph becoming
  northwest by Noon. 

* TEMPERATURES...falling to near 30 during the snow then
  recovering slightly during the afternoon.
