The National Weather Service in Upton NY has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Fairfield County in southern Connecticut...
  Central Westchester County in southeastern New York...

* Until 500 PM EDT

* At 157 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated rain and embedded 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain moving into the warned area. 2 
  to 3 inches of rain has fallen just west of the area. Excessive 
  runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of urban areas, 
  highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas 
  and low lying spots.Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is 
  expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk, Milford, Shelton, New Canaan,
  Newtown, Fairfield, Greenwich, Stratford, Trumbull, Westport,
  Ridgefield, Darien and Monroe.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 500 PM EDT FOR
FAIRFIELD AND CENTRAL WESTCHESTER COUNTIES...

At 301 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated rain and embedded 
thunderstorms diminishing across the area. However, much of the area 
has received an estimated 1 to 2 inches of rainfall in only a couple 
of hours. While the rain is diminishing, it will take hour or two 
for water levels to recede. 

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk, Milford, Shelton, New Canaan, Newtown,
Fairfield, Greenwich, Stratford, Trumbull, Westport, Ridgefield,
Darien and Monroe.
