...The National Weather Service in Elko has issued a Flood Warning 
for the following rivers in Nevada... 

  Humboldt River Near Elko affecting Elko County
For the Upper Humboldt, including Elko, Minor flooding is forecast.

More snow melt on the way, and entering the Humboldt River channel 
upstream from Elko, is going to swell the river to minor flood levels
this week. Exact timing and just how  high it will get is a little
uncertain at this time. 

Please be cautious around the river or any stream. Turn around.
Don't drown.

  The Humboldt River Near Elko.
* from Tuesday evening to Thursday afternoon...Or until the warning 
  is cancelled.
* At  5:15 AM Sunday the stage was 6.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to near flood stage 
  Tuesday evening.
* Impact...at 8.0 feet...This is flood stage. Minor lowland flooding 
  occurs up and downstream of Elko. With recent flooding, the river
  channel is no doubt changed. Most flooded spots could flood again,
  but slight differences could take place this time.

For the Upper Humboldt, including Elko, Minor flooding is forecast.

...Continued snowmelt and significant inflow from the Marys River near
Deeth will cause the Humboldt River at Elko to possibly rise into minor
flood stage by Friday morning. There is uncertainty in the forecast, due
to additional precipitation throughout the week. Interested persons or 
residents should closely monitor the forecast for further updates...

...Flood Warning extended until late Friday night for the Humboldt
  River near Elko.
* from late Thursday night to late Friday night...or until the 
  warning is cancelled.
* At 3:15 AM Tuesday the stage was 6.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...rise above flood stage by Friday morning and hold steady
  near 8.1 feet Friday. Fluctuations are likely thereafter.  
* Impact...at 8.0 feet...This is flood stage. Minor lowland flooding 
  occurs up and downstream of Elko. Very minor flooding from backed 
  up storm drains begins in Elko along Water Street north of the 
  river and Front Street south of the river, between 1st and 9th 
  Streets and Lamoille RD. This is about 2700 cfs or about 5 yr flood
  which means a 20 percent chance in any given year.

For the Upper Humboldt, including Elko, no flooding is observed or 
forecast.

The Humboldt River at Elko is now forecast to crest Thursday 
afternoon around 7.6 feet, which will be below the minor flood 
stage of 8.0 feet. The river will remain below flood stage through 
the weekend. As such, the flood warning for the Humboldt River near 
Elko has been canceled.

  The Humboldt River Near Elko.
* At  3:15 PM Tuesday the stage was 6.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will crest below flood stage with a value of 
  7.6 feet Thursday afternoon.
* Impact...at 7.5 feet...This is bankfull with some very minor lowland
  flooding occurring up and downstream of Elko. No flooding occurs in 
  Elko. This is 2200 cfs or about a 4 yr flood which means a 25 
  percent chance in any given year.
