The National Weather Service in Elko Nevada has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Nye County in south central Nevada...

* Until 115 AM PDT

* At 942 PM PDT, NHP and NDOT continue to report highway 375 closed 
  at the junction with highway 6 in Northern Nye County due to water 
  over highway 375. Another storm system may bring addtional 
  rainfall to the warned area over the next several hours. Flash 
  flooding is already occurring.

* Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern
  Nye County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

.SYNOPSIS...Showers and thunderstorms will persist into the
evening. Brief moderate to heavy rain is possible in the storms,
along with hail and gusty outflow winds. Afternoon thunderstorm
activity lingers over portions of the region later this week,
however activity will be slightly less.

&&

.SHORT TERM...Tonight through Friday. Showers and thunderstorms
have started a little earlier than yesterday. Storms are tracking
a little faster today which will lead to a lessened flood threat. The
activity will continue into the evening hours. Main threats
continue to be wind gusts to 60 mph along with brief moderate to
heavy rain and small hail.

For tomorrow, moisture levels will decrease slightly, helping to
limit convective activity. Still, have kept mainly isolated
showers and thunderstorms across the area. Highs will be in the
90s.

Thursday night and Friday. The slight drying trend continues, but
still cannot rule out isolated storms for the afternoon. Highs
will be in the 90s.

.LONG TERM...Friday night through next Wednesday.

Upper ridge will gradually rebuild over the Great Basin this
weekend into next week. Moisture and weak instability will remain
under this feature which will keep the threat of thunderstorms
developing each day across portions of central and eastern Nevada.
Extent of moisture would support scattered storms through the
heart of the CWA on Saturday, some of which might be capable of
producing locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding. Available
moisture and subsequent storm coverage is trending to be more
isolated through the middle of next week. Temperatures will
continue above normal with daytime highs in the 90s and lows at
night in the mid 50s to mid 60s.

.AVIATION...Given available moisture and instability, scattered
showers and thunderstorms will redevelop once again this Wednesday
afternoon around and en route of all TAF sites. Scattered storms
will persist through mid- evening before diminishing to light rain
showers and finally dissipating overnight. Outflow winds over 35
knots, locally heavy downpours, and small hail along with reduced
visibilities to below MVFR are likely in the vicinity of stronger
convective cells. There is also an increased risk today of
isolated severe gusts/wet microbursts to 50 knots associated with
a few of the more intense descending storm cores per SPC Day 1
convective outlook/discussion that has northern and central Nevada
in the heart of a marginal area for severe weather.

.FIRE WEATHER...The scattered showers and thunderstorms will
continue to affect the area this evening. Some slight drying will
take place tomorrow with fewer storms possible, mainly in the
isolated category. These will be located in the eastern counties
of Elko and White Pine counties.
