  Southeastern Allen Parish in southwestern Louisiana...

* Until 430 AM CDT Thursday

* At 1029 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Two to four inches of rain have 
  already fallen and additional heavy rainfall is expected over the 
  next several hours. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Opelousas, Crowley, Eunice, Jennings, Rayne, Ville Platte, Church
  Point, Mamou, Welsh, Lake Arthur, Basile, Iota, Elton, Mermentau,
  Evangeline, Chataignier, Mowata, Prairie Ronde, Maxie and Mire.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 AM CDT FOR
JEFFERSON DAVIS...SOUTHERN EVANGELINE...ACADIA...WESTERN ST. LANDRY
AND SOUTHEASTERN ALLEN PARISHES...

At 303 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that thunderstorms producing 
heavy rain have exited the warned area. 3 to 10 inches of rain have 
fallen. Flash flooding is expected to continue through the next 
several hours, however water levels will gradually recede.

Some locations that will experience flooding 
include... Opelousas, Crowley, Eunice, Jennings, Rayne, Ville 
Platte, Church Point, Mamou, Welsh, Lake Arthur, Basile, Iota, 
Elton, Mermentau, Evangeline, Chataignier, Mowata, Prairie Ronde, 
Maxie and Mire.
