* Until 1115 PM CDT Wednesday
* At 507 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain is not as
widespread as earlier in the day across the warned area. However
additional showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop or
move into the area over the next few hours. Stream gauges indicate
that the smaller drainages are subsiding while the larger bayous
continue to rise. Five to ten inches of rain have fallen across
the area today. Flash flooding is already occurring with numerous
reports of roads flooded with water in homes.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lake Charles, Sulphur, Jennings, Westlake, Welsh, Vinton, Iowa,
Lake Arthur, Kinder, Oberlin, Elton, Fenton, Reeves, Singer, Hayes,
Moss Bluff, De Quincy, Ragley, Lake Charles Regional Airport and
Starks.
Additional rainfall amounts of three to five are possible in the
warned area through the through the evening as additional showers
and thunderstorms develop.
