.Extensive lowland flooding will develop along rivers in southern
Indiana following rains of 2 to more than 4 inches since Monday
morning. Significant flooding is possible along the Muscatatuck
River in southern Jackson County. Flooding will affect local and
state roads...agricultural land and river parks. Flooding is
already in progress and will expand in the days ahead.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

reported the following County Roads still under water; River Road,
entire Road; Bartlettsville Road, by the bridge and in the bottoms;
Judah-Logan Road, by the bridge; Logan Bottoms, the gravel part;
Donica Church Road, between Logan Bottom and the hill; Peerless
Road, by Mica Metals; Little Salt Creek Run; Stumphole Bridge Road,
near Indiana State Road 450; Huron-Williams Road; Lawrenceport
Road; Rivervale Road and Earl Road.

* At 21.2 feet...At this level during December 2013 backwater reached
the tailwater of Lake Monroe as Salt Creek stopped falling. The
crest of the river followed 2 days later and reached 27.6 feet at
Bedford and caused Salt Creek to rise nearly 6 feet at the
tailwater of Monroe Lake.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in
Indiana...
East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...White River...
.River levels continued to rise at most locations in southern
Indiana Thursday evening. Flood crests will be lower
than high water experienced in January. The East Fork White
River crested at Seymour Thursday morning and fell below
flood stage late Thursday afternoon. The crest is expected to reach
the Wheeler Hollow area Friday, then the Bedford and Williams areas
this weekend in southwest Indiana. High water will last from 1 to
more than 5 days in southwest Indiana.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

Northern locales could see a brief mix of rain to snow this evening, before an upper system to the eastern Great Lakes. After that, a clipper systems could bring rain or snow showers to all or parts of the area Thursday afternoon and night and again Friday night. Meanwhile, warmer and dry weather is expected the rest of the weekend with the next chance of showers early next week as another low pressure system approaches from the west. && .NEAR TERM (Today and tonight)... Issued at 937 AM EST Wed Mar 1 2017 The system that caused active weather earlier is now leaving.
