...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood
Warning for portions of the following rivers in western Indiana...
South Fork Wildcat Creek...Wabash River...
.Lowland flooding is developing along Wildcat Creek and will soon
develop across portions of the Wabash River. Significant flooding is
not expected. Flooding will affect some local and state roads...low
agricultural land and some river parks.
Three to four inches of rain fell from Thursday to Saturday morning
across the Upper Wabash Basin. Another inch of rain is possible in
the same area Saturday and Saturday night. Flooding will be worst on
the Wabash in the Lafayette area with the river reaching six to
seven feet above flood stage by late Sunday with smaller crests
further downstream.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.
