...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 900 PM CDT FOR
NORTHERN VERMILION COUNTY...
At 813 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported flash flooding in
northern Vermilion County. Widespread rainfall amounts of two to as
much as 3 inches of rain fell in under 30 minutes with severe
thunderstorms this evening which also produced large amounts of
hail. Flash flooding is already occurring, and deep hail drifts will
worsen the effects of flooding.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hoopeston, Rossville, Potomac, Rankin, Henning and Alvin.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Northern Vermilion County in east central Illinois...
* Until 500 AM CDT Saturday
* At 826 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported flash flooding
occurring across the warned area. Two to as much as three inches
of rain fell in less than 30 minutes this evening across northern
Vermilion County , and additional thunderstorms are affecting the
area this evening. Flash flooding is already occurring. Large
amounts of hail also produced deep hail drifts which are worsening
flooding.
