* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southwestern Sedgwick County in south central Kansas...
Southeastern Kingman County in south central Kansas...
Northwestern Sumner County in south central Kansas...
* Until 1015 PM CDT.
* At 522 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Four to six inches of rain has
fallen since yesterday evening, with much of this occurring just
in the past few hours. Widespread flooding has been reported in
and around the Norwich area, along with water covering Highway 42
near Norwich.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Norwich.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible through
the evening.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Keep away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep people and pets away.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

COUNTIES...
At 650 PM CDT, flash flooding continues across parts of northwest
Sumner and extreme southeast Kingman counties. Water was flowing
across K-42 just west of the K-2 intersection in extreme northwest
Sumner county.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Norwich.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

KINGMAN AND NORTHWESTERN SUMNER COUNTIES IS CANCELLED...
Even though the threat for heavy rain has ended, excessive runoff
from heavy rain since yesterday evening will continue to cause
flooding of small streams and creeks, streets, country roads, poor
drainage areas and other low lying spots. Consequently, a flood
warning remains in effect. Please heed all road closures.
