This system will pass just to the north keeping most of the region dry. However strong winds aloft, tight low-level pressure gradients, and a passing cold front will all work to increase winds, resulting in strong and gusty winds across the region. Winds will begin to increase late this evening and especially overnight over the higher terrain, through passes, and over east slope areas. Winds across the lowlands will strengthen quickly in the early morning hours. Blowing dust is expected in the vicinity of dust prone areas by mid-morning. Winds are expected to diminish, and dust settle, quickly near and after sunset as the system exits to the east.
