THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a

* Flood Watch Western and portions of Central New York. 

* From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through this evening.

* Showers and thunderstorms will produce about an inch of rainfall
  today, with locally higher amounts up to two inches. This
  combined with existing wet conditions may result in flooding.

* With water levels already high, it will not take much rainfall
  to cause flooding in some area creeks and streams. Urban areas
  and areas with steep terrain will also be vulnerable to 
  flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be
alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to
flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding
