.Already elevated river levels coupled with recent precipitation
have resulted in flooding along many points across central and
southern Indiana.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

* At  9:30 AM Friday the stage was 9.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow morning and continue 
  to rise to near 11.1 feet by tomorrow early afternoon.  The river 
  will fall below flood stage by tomorrow evening.
* At 12.0 feet...Lowland flooding reported along Sugar Creek and Big 
  Blue River in southern Johnson County in March 2011.  Lowland 
  flooding begins along portions of the Driftwood River in northern 
  Bartholomew County.  Water is near CR 950N to Double Y Saddle Club.

* At  8:45 AM Friday the stage was 14.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 16.3 feet by 
  tomorrow evening. The river will fall below flood stage Tuesday 
  evening.
* At 16.4 feet...State Road 258 remained open after the river 
  rebounded quickly to this level in June 2010.  State Road 258 had 
  been flooded a few days earlier after river crested at 17.9 feet.

* from late Sunday night to Friday March 18.
* At  9:30 AM Friday the stage was 15.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Monday morning and continue to
  rise to near 21.4 feet by Tuesday early afternoon.  The river will 
  fall below flood stage by Thursday early afternoon.
* At 22.0 feet...A few local county roads begin to flood and are 
  impassable.  These include Buddha Road south of the gage and 
  Lawrenceport Road.  All local roads across the East Fork of the 
  White River are threatened by high water, and some are closed.  
  Flooding of agricultural lands in Lawrence County is in progress.

* At 12.0 feet...On April 6, 2011 after reaching 13 feet...Noblitt 
  Park...CR 400N and Owens Bend Park remained flooded.

* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow early afternoon and 
  continue to rise to near 17.0 feet by early Monday morning.  The 
  river will fall below flood stage by Thursday morning.
* At 17.5 feet...Flooding closes Old Vincennes Road.  High water 
  crosses SR 358 on the Daviess County side just west of the levee.  
  Flooding begins to affect higher bottomlands.  Residential property
  of river cabins begins to flood.

* At 19.0 feet...Low bottomlands flood and flooding begins on higher 
  bottomlands.  State Road 257 may begin to flood if Shoals gage 
  reading is over 17 feet.  Private levees may be overtopped in many 
  cases.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 19.8 
  feet Thursday evening.
* At 20.0 feet...Most of the low bottomlands flood. Flooding begins in
  higher bottomlands. High water affects any residents in Pottsville 
  river cabins. Pottsville Road...North C Street on river side of 
  railroad tracks and Catt Street near U. S. Highway 41 are flooded. 
  Water is near or starting on Giro Road in the vicinity of submerged
  Pottsville Road. Oil stripped fields flood. Flood gates must be 
  installed at Hazleton.

DRIER AIR HAS WORKED INTO CENTRAL INDIANA WITH DEWPOINTS IN THE 30S
NORTH TO AROUND 40 SOUTH. THIS DRY AIR WILL REMAIN IN PLACE AS HIGH
PRESSURE ASSERTS ITS INFLUENCE ACROSS THE AREA TODAY. THUS WILL
CONTINUE WITH A DRY FORECAST.

SATELLITE IMAGERY SHOWS A STEADY FLOW OF HIGH CLOUDS INTO THE AREA
THANKS TO AN UPPER LOW OFF TO THE SOUTHWEST. EXPECT THIS TO CONTINUE
THROUGH THE DAY. HARD TO TELL AT THE MOMENT HOW THICK THE HIGH
CLOUDS ARE...BUT BELIEVE THERE WILL BE FILTERED SUNSHINE TODAY. WILL
GO WITH PARTLY CLOUDY FOR THE DAY AS A WHOLE.

FOCUS IS ON CHANCES FOR RAIN THROUGH THE PERIOD. MODELS ARE CLOSE
ENOUGH THAT A BLEND WAS USED.

HIGH PRESSURE SHOULD STILL HAVE ENOUGH INFLUENCE TO KEEP THE AREA
DRY THIS EVENING...BUT OVERNIGHT A WARM FRONT WILL APPROACH THE AREA
FROM THE SOUTH. AN EASTERLY FLOW AT THE SURFACE WILL HELP EAT AWAY
WITH ANY RAIN THAT DEVELOPS...SO LOWERED POPS EVERYWHERE...KEEPING
THE ENTIRE NORTH HALF DRY THROUGH THE NIGHT. IN THE SOUTH WENT
SLIGHT CHANCE TO LOW CHANCE CATEGORY POPS.

ON SATURDAY THE WARM FRONT WILL MOVE IN...BUT OVERALL FORCING AND
MOISTURE ARE NOT IMPRESSIVE. ALLOWED POPS TO GRADUALLY INCREASE FROM
SOUTH TO NORTH DURING THE DAY...BUT KEPT MOST OF THE FORECAST AREA
IN THE CHANCE CATEGORY.

SATURDAY NIGHT BETTER FORCING WILL MOVE IN THANKS TO AN UPPER LEVEL
LOW. WHILE THE LOW WILL BE OPENING UP AS IT MOVES INTO THE
AREA...FORCING AND MOISTURE STILL LOOK GOOD ENOUGH TO GO LIKELY TO
CATEGORICAL POPS. WENT HIGHEST POPS IN THE SOUTHWEST HALF...CLOSER
TO THE UPPER LOW.

WITH THE UPPER LOW /NOW REALLY A TROUGH/ STILL MOVING THROUGH ON
SUNDAY...WENT LIKELY POPS ALL AREAS. AS ANOTHER UPPER LOW MOVES TO
OUR SOUTH SUNDAY NIGHT...WENT LOW END LIKELY POPS AS BETTER
FORCING WILL BE OFF TO THE SOUTH.

SOME CONCERN THAT CONVECTION OFF TO THE SOUTH OF THE AREA WILL ROB
MOISTURE FROM THE AREA AND COULD RESULT IN LOWER CHANCES OF RAIN OR
