...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in 
Indiana...

  Driftwood River...East Fork White River...Eel River...Muscatatuck 
  River...Wabash River...White River...



.Widespread lowland flooding will return to western and southern
Indiana this weekend.  Significant flooding is possible.  River
flooding during the week of March 13 could be nearly as extensive as
the flooding experienced in late December and early January.

Area wide rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected from Wednesday night
through Friday morning.  The heaviest rainfall is forecast for
southwest Indiana.  Thunderstorms on Wednesday night in southern
Indiana may cause locally higher rainfall.  Rain will return again
during the weekend and the middle of next week.

Flooding will last from a few days on small streams to more than two
weeks on the White and Wabash River in southwest Indiana and
southeast Illinois.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

  flooding begins along portions of the Driftwood River in northern 
  Bartholomew County.  Water is near CR 950N to Double Y Saddle Club.

* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Monday afternoon and continue 
  to rise to near 20.8 feet by Tuesday early afternoon.  The river 
  will fall below flood stage by Wednesday before midnight.
* At 20.5 feet...Lawrenceport Road just east of Lawrenceport and on 
  the south side of river begins to flood around this level.  By 22 
  feet this road is impassable.  During typical floods in this 
  area...this portion of the road can be flooded by 5 to more than 10
  feet of water.  During the January 2005 flood...this area would 
  have been near the "bottom" of the river...underwater by nearly 17 
  feet.  In the great March 1913 flood...more than 25 feet of water 
  would have covered this location.

  19 through April 9.   As mid-March 2011 high water was receding...
  SR 257 south of Washington reopened when Shoals was at 10.5 feet 
  and falling steadily for the past 2 days.
