Chattahoochee River near Morgan Falls Dam TW affecting Cobb and Fulton Counties Chattahoochee River near Vinings Paces Ferry Road affecting Cobb and Fulton Counties .Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant runoff into streams and rivers which will cause flooding in some areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect life and property. The river will rise above flood stage late this afternoon. The river will crest near 822 feet by this evening. The river will fall below flood stage by midnight. * At 822 feet...Minor flooding continues of residential yards downstream from the gage at Morgan Falls Dam. This will affect homes on Columns Drive in Cobb County and the water will begin to rise up on the concrete bridge over Sope Creek. Minor flooding will expand in the yards of homes on Edgewater Drive...Ferry Landing... River Chase Circle...River Glen Trace and Winterthur Drive in Fulton County. The Chattahoochee River near Roswell.
* Until late tonight.
* At 300 PM Friday the stage was 9.3 feet...and rising slowly.
* Minor flooding will continue.
* Flood stage is 9 feet.
* The river appears to be cresting around 9.3 feet and will continue
to fall to below flood stage by this evening.
* At 9 feet...Flood stage is reached. The water reaches the bottom
of the Ace Sand Company office and begins to flood the parking lot
of Don White Memorial Park on Riverside Road...and the parking lot
at the Azalea Park on Azalea Drive west of Roswell Road. Water will
approach the tennis courts at the Huntcliff Club across from Azalea
Park and begin to flood the road leading to the horse stables. The
storm drains will no longer function properly at Riverside Road and
Northcliff Trace.

* Minor flooding will continue.
* Flood stage is 14 feet.
* The river will rise to near 16 feet this evening. The river will
fall below flood stage early Saturday morning.
* At 16 feet...Minor flooding expands in the
woodlands and portions of the Chattahoochee National Recreation
Area along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on Cobb
Parkway. The flood waters will be around one foot deep over portions
of the access road to the recreation area.

* From Saturday early afternoon until Sunday afternoon.
* At 300 PM Friday the stage was 11.1 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 17 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by Saturday early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 17.7 feet by Saturday evening. The river
will fall below flood stage by Sunday morning.
* At 17 feet...Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding begins in the
woodlands and fields along the river upstream and downstream from
the gage on U.S. Highway 27 or Georgia Highway 16. Flood waters
reach the top of the boat ramp at Riverside Park next to the
bridge. The playground at a day use area on the west side of the
Chattahoochee Bend State Park will begin to flood.

Landing...River Chase Circle...River Glen Trace and Winterthur
Drive in Fulton County. Low areas of the Chattahoochee River
National Recreation Area will begin to flood.
