Heavy rainfall of up to 3 inches will continue to cause significant
rises along the lower Roanoke River today. This should push river
levels at Randolph to above flood stage this afternoon...with rises
to around 23.3 feet by early Wednesday morning.

THE FRONT WILL CAUSE WIND SPEEDS TO INCREASE AGAIN...WITH GUSTS AS
HIGH AS 40 MPH ALONG THE RIDGELINES THROUGH THE NIGHT.

THE HIGH CENTER TRAVELS EAST INTO THE ATLANTIC OCEAN...HIGH
TEMPERATURES FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY WILL MODERATE INTO THE MID 50S IN
THE MOUNTAINS TO THE LOWER 60S IN THE PIEDMONT. THE ECMWF IS FASTER
THE GFS IN ADVECTING RICHER MOISTURE BACK INTO OUR AREA AHEAD OF THE
NEXT SHORTWAVE TROUGH FOR EARLY NEXT WEEK.

POOR FLYING CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TO PERSIST EARLY THIS MORNING
WITH WIDESPREAD MVFR/IFR CIGS AND MVFR VSBYS IN RAIN AROUND KLYH
AND DRIZZLE/FOG ELSEWHERE. AN AXIS OF LOW PRESSURE WILL PASS
ACROSS THE REGION AND TO THE NORTHEAST BY THIS AFTERNOON ALLOWING
INCREASING NORTHWEST FLOW TO TAKE SHAPE. THIS SHOULD PROVIDE FOR A
TRANSITION TO VFR FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST THIS AFTERNOON WITH
KLYH LIKELY THE LAST OF THE EASTERN SITES TO SCOUR OUT WHILE LOWER
MVFR CIGS LOOK TO REDEVELOP WITH UPSLOPE FLOW AROUND KBLF/KLWB.
NORTHWEST WINDS MAY ALSO BE STRONG AT TIMES ALONG THE RIDGES BY
THIS AFTERNOON WITH GUSTS TO 20-25 KTS POSSIBLE.

HIGH PRESSURE SHOULD CONTINUE TO BUILD EAST INTO THE AREA TONIGHT
AS THE LOW HEADS OFFSHORE ALLOWING FOR A DRIER NORTHWEST
TRAJECTORY INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY. HOWEVER THIS UPSLOPE COMPONENT
MAY TEND TO KEEP MVFR CIGS ALONG THE WESTERN SLOPES AT TIMES
OVERNIGHT WITH SOME OF THIS LOWER CANOPY POSSIBLY SPREADING OUT TO
AROUND KBCB. WINDS SHOULD DIMINISH AND BECOME LIGHT EAST OF THE
BLUE RIDGE BUT REMAIN GUSTY ALONG THE RIDGES FOR MUCH OF THE
NIGHT.

WIDESPREAD VFR WILL OCCUR WEDNESDAY WITH HIGH PRESSURE OVERHEAD
FOR MUCH OF THE DAY. THIS SHOULD ALSO MAKE FOR LIGHT WIND
