...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in 
western and southern Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...Wabash River...White 
  River...


.Rainfall of 1 to nearly 3 inches on Saturday caused elevated river
levels and lowland river flooding in portions of western and
southern Indiana on Sunday evening.  Flooding returned to the East
Fork White and Muscatatuck Rivers in Jackson county. Lowland
flooding will develop along the White River in southwest Indiana on
Monday and Tuesday.  Lowland flooding may occur along the Wabash
River in western Indiana from Monday through Friday.  Flood crests
will be similar to those experienced in early December.

Bitter cold weather this week will limit the duration of any flooding
to a few days.  Precipitation this week will be in the form of snow
and local standing water will freeze.  This will allow rivers to
return to near normal levels by January 12.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

White...Muscatatuck and Wabash River in southern and western
Indiana.  Rivers were at or nearing a crest.  Flood levels were
similar to those experienced in December.

Bitter cold weather this week will limit the duration of current high
water to a few days.  Accumulating snow on Tuesday will remain on
the ground through January 12 and not contribute to the present
flooding.  Rivers will return to near normal levels by January 12.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

southern Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...White River...


.Lowland flooding continued along portions of the East Fork White ...
White and Muscatatuck Rivers in southern Indiana. The crest on the
East Fork White and Muscatatuck Rivers was approaching the
Sparksville area while the main crest on the White River was near
Hazleton.

High water in the Sparksville area on Wednesday will be similar to
levels seen in December.  River levels in the Petersburg and
Hazleton areas will remain near flood stage through Friday before
falling steadily during the weekend.

Bitter cold weather this week will limit the duration of current high
water to a few days.  Snowfall in central Indiana ranged from an inch
to 7 inches.  This snow will remain on the ground through January 12
and will not contribute to the high water in southern Indiana.
Rivers will return to near normal levels by January 12.

.Lowland flooding continued along portions of the East Fork White ...
White and Muscatatuck Rivers in southern Indiana.  The crest on the
East Fork White and Muscatatuck Rivers passed the Sparksville and
Rivervale areas on Wednesday and was nearing Williams and Shoals
today.  High water was similar that seen in December.

The White River in southwest Indiana will remain near flood stage
through Friday as high water from the East Fork White River arrives. 
Flooding will end at all locations in southern Indiana by Sunday
night.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Be alert to ice on previously flooded roads.  Keep
children away from flooded areas. Recreational and agricultural

.Lowland flooding and high water continued along the lower portion of
the Muscatatuck and East Fork White Rivers in southern Indiana.  The
crest on the East Fork White River passed the Rivervale area on
Thursday and was in the Williams and Shoals areas today.  Ice floes
in the rivers were causing water level fluctuations.  River levels
were return to more normal levels by Monday.

6Z...ESPECIALLY THE GFS. ALONG WITH THE COLD TEMPERATURES THIS
SHOULD LEAD TO RELATIVELY LARGE SNOW RATIOS WHICH COULD ALLOW LIGHT
FLUFFY SNOW TO ACCUMULATE QUICKLY. THUS INCREASED GOING SNOW AMOUNTS
TO OVER 3 INCHES IN THE NORTH WITH ABOUT 1-2 INCHES ALONG THE I-70
CORRIDOR AND DROPPING OFF QUICKLY TO THE SOUTH. THERE IS STILL HIGH
