THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE TWIN CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EASTERN MCLEOD COUNTY IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA...

* UNTIL 900 AM CDT

* AT 608 AM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED FLASH   
FLOODING OCCURRING IN THE TOWNS OF GLENCOE AND WINSTED. MANY STREETS 
WERE FLOODED AND WATER WAS STARTING TO ENCROACH IN HOMES AND 
BUSINESSES. 

AN AREA OF PARTICULAR CONCERN IS AREAS ALONG THE BUFFALO 
CREEK. THE RIVER GAUGE AT GLENCOE SHOWED A RISE 1.55 FT BETWEEN 4 AM 
AND 530 AM. RIVER GAGES UPSTREAM AT BROWNTON ARE SHOWING SIMILAR 
RISES. 

THE RAPID RISES ARE DUE TO THE HEAVY RAIN OF 2.5 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN 
THAT FELL SINCE 4 AM WITH MOST OF THE RAIN OCCURRING BETWEEN 4 AND 5 
AM. 

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING 
INCLUDE...GLENCOE...BROWNTON...LESTER PRAIRIE...SILVER LAKE...BISCAY
AND WINSTEAD.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...
COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS...STREAMS AND
OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING.
