...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT MIDDLESEX COUNTY...

AT 1058 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED 
HEAVY SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE 
EXTENDING FROM 11 MILES WEST OF ELIZABETH TO 6 MILES NORTHWEST OF 
PERTH AMBOY TO 5 MILES NORTHWEST OF PERTH AMBOY TO 4 MILES NORTHEAST 
OF NEW BRUNSWICK...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH. THE THUNDERSTORMS 
WILL BE NEAR WOODBRIDGE AROUND 1110 AM AND CARTERET AROUND 1115 AM.

ONE POINT THREE INCHES OF RAIN FELL IN 20 MINUTES IN SOMERSET NEW 
JERSEY JUST A LITTLE WHILE AGO.  

VERY HEAVY RAIN WILL FALL FROM THESE STORMS...AND WILL CAUSE WATER TO
POND ON ROADS AND QUICKLY FILL POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH ARE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS.

FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS. DO
NOT SEEK SHELTER UNDER TREES WHEN LIGHTNING THREATENS...MOVE INDOORS
