THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN INDIANAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  A LEVEE FAILURE IN...  
  WEST CENTRAL DAVIESS COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST INDIANA...

* UNTIL MIDNIGHT EST

* AT 601 PM EST...A LEVEE ON THE WEST FORK OF THE WHITE RIVER        
  NORTHWEST OF WASHINGTON WAS NEAR FAILURE CAUSING FLASH FLOODING OF 
  IMMEDIATE SURROUNDING AREAS.

DAVIESS COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT REPORTS THAT WATER WAS SEEPING 
THROUGH THE LEVEE EARLY THIS EVENING. LOCAL OFFICIALS EXPECT THE 
LEVEE TO FAIL...POSSIBLY LATER THIS EVENING. RESIDENTS OF THE MAYSVILLE 
TRAILER PARK...AND SURROUNDING AREAS...WEST AND NORTHWEST OF THE 
TOWN OF WASHINGTON...WILL BE IMPACTED. THIS INCLUDES U S HIGHWAY 50 
IN THE VICINITY OF THE TOWN OF MAYSVILLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO
HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO
FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF FLOOD WATERS. ONLY A FEW INCHES OF
RAPIDLY FLOWING WATER CAN QUICKLY CARRY AWAY YOUR VEHICLE.
