THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY NJ HAS EXTENDED A
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
SUSSEX COUNTY IN SOUTHERN DELAWARE
* UNTIL 500 PM EDT
* AT 135 PM EDT...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED THEY
HAD LOST CONTACT WITH THE WESTERN PART OF SUSSEX COUNTY...
INCLUDING THE AREA AROUND SEAFORD. SOME ROADS HAD BEEN
WASHED AWAY DUE TO TORRENTIAL RAINFALL.
ONLY SCATTERED SHOWERS WERE OCCURRING AROUND THE COUNTY EARLY THIS
AFTERNOON...BUT ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WOULD ONLY EXACERBATE THE
CONSIDERABLE FLOODING THAT WAS OCCURRING. MOREOVER...THE DEVELOPMENT
OF ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN CANNOT BE RULED OUT.
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
