THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WICHITA HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  MARION COUNTY IN CENTRAL KANSAS.

* UNTIL 930 PM CDT.

* AT 419 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE WARNED AREA.   
DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED RAINFALL RATES NEAR 3 INCHES PER HOUR MAINLY 
OVER NORTHWESTERN MARION COUNTY.

* SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
  WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH
  FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING
  INCLUDE...MARION...DURHAM...FLORENCE...HILLSBORO...LEHIGH...
  LINCOLNVILLE...TAMPA...LOST SPRINGS...MARION LAKE AND PILSEN.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE 
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS 
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.

AT 645 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED 
THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WAS OCCURRING ACROSS THE 
NORTHERN PART OF THE COUNTY. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED CURRENT STORM 
TOTALS OF 2.5 TO 3.5 INCHES OVER THE NORTHWEST PART OF THE COUNTY. 
EXPECT RAINFALL RATES OF .50 INCHES .75 INCHES PER HOUR TO OCCUR.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IN THE WARNED AREA. 
RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO 
OCCUR. 

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
