THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
  LAVACA

* UNTIL 630 AM CDT

* AT 446 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  FLASH FLOODING FROM A THUNDERSTORM BETWEEN SPEAKS AND SHERIDAN...OR
  ABOUT 17 MILES SOUTHEAST TO 10 MILES EAST OF 
  HALLETTSVILLE...MOVING NORTH AT 10 MPH.

* THE STORM PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING WILL OTHERWISE REMAIN OVER
  MAINLY RURAL AREAS OF LAVACA COUNTY BETWEEN SPEAKS AND SHERIDAN.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES HAVE BEEN ESTIMATED AND AN 
ADDITIONAL 1 INCH IS EXPECTED. SOILS ARE SATURATED AND RUNOFF WILL 
BE RAPID WITH FLASH FLOODING LIKELY ALONG FM 2437 AND FM 530 IN 
EASTERN LAVACA COUNTY.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...NORMALLY DRY WASHES AND
ARROYOS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
