SOUTH CENTRAL PIMA COUNTY IN ARIZONA EXTREME NORTHWEST SANTA CRUZ COUNTY IN ARIZONA * UNTIL 1000 PM MST * AT 737 PM MST...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED A FLASH FLOOD ALONG ARIVACA ROAD NEAR ARIVACA. ALTHOUGH HEAVY RAINS HAVE ENDED IN THIS AREA...RUNOFF FROM BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES OF RAIN EARLIER IN THE EVENING WAS CAUSING NUMEROUS WASHES TO FLOOD IN THE ARIVACA AREA. HIGHWAY 286 WAS ALSO CLOSED NEAR MILE POST 29 DUE TO HIGH WATER. FLASH FLOODING IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT BECAUSE IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE RISING WATER. IF WATER COVERS THE ROAD...TURN AROUND AND TAKE ANOTHER ROUTE. THIS WARNING REPLACES THE PREVIOUSLY ISSUED FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THIS AREA.
