THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  REPUBLIC COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS
  WASHINGTON COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS

* UNTIL 200 AM CDT

* AT 11 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED 
  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINS WERE CONTINUING           
  ACROSS MAINLY SOUTHERN SECTIONS OF REPUBLIC AND WASHINGTON         
  COUNTIES. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE SHOWING LITTLE MOVEMENT AND       
  RADAR INDICATED RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR WITH 
  THE STORMS OVER SOUTHERN REPUBLIC AND SOUTHERN WASHINGTON 
  COUNTIES. CURRENT INDICATIONS ARE THAT THE STORMS WILL CONTINUE    
  OVER THESE FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS OVER THE SAME AREA.    

* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED...
  HANOVER
  MORROWVILLE
  HADDAM
  CUBA

RUNOFF FROM THESE STORMS WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF CREEKS AND
STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY ROADS AND FARMLANDS
ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT
TO FLASH FLOODING.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND...AWAY FROM RISING WATER.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR REPUBLIC AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES HAS 
BEEN ALLOWED TO EXPIRE...

AT 2 AM CDT...RADAR SHOWED THE RAINS HAD TEMPORARILY ENDED ACROSS 
REPUBLIC AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES. NO FLOODING HAS BEEN REPORTED 
SINCE MIDNIGHT ACROSS EITHER REPUBLIC OR WASHINGTON COUNTIES. 
CONSEQUENTLY...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO EXPIRE. 

ALTHOUGH THE RAIN HAS ENDED FOR THE TIME BEING ACROSS THESE 
COUNTIES...RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS TO THE WEST AND NORTH OF THE 
AREA WILL LIKELY SPREAD ACROSS REPUBLIC AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES 
AFTER 3 AM. MODERATE TO BRIEFLY HEAVY RAINFALL MAY OCCUR WITH THESE 
STORMS LATER TONIGHT AND INTO SUNDAY MORNING AFTER SUNRISE.
