000 WWUS20 KWNS 071436 SEL1 SPC WW 071440 ALZ000-GAZ000-072000- URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 111 STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 1040 AM EDT MON APR 7 2003 THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST ALABAMA SOUTH CENTRAL GEORGIA EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY MORNING AND AFTERNOON FROM 1040 AM UNTIL 400 PM EDT. TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 35 STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 10 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF TROY ALABAMA TO 60 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF MACON GEORGIA. REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.
