THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CARTER COUNTY IN KENTUCKY...

* UNTIL 1115 PM EDT...

* AT 814 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY
  RAIN OVER GLOBE...OR ABOUT 7 MILES WEST OF OLIVE HILL.

* SOME LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING AREA INCLUDE CARTER CAVES STATE
  PARK...GRAYSON...GRAYSON LAKE STATE PARK...OLIVE HILL...DENTON AND
  GESLING.

UP TO 1.5 INCH OF RAIN HAD FALLEN OVER THE AREA THROUGH EARLY 
AFTERNOON.  WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATES THAT AN ADDITIONAL INCH 
TO INCH AND A HALF OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF 
HOURS.  

ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO 
TRAIN OVER THIS AREA OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS.  STRONG RISES ON 
CREEKS AND STREAMS CAN BE EXPECTED.  

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE 
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED 
ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT 
STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
