THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN INDIANAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  PARKE COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL INDIANA
  VERMILLION COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL INDIANA

* UNTIL 615 AM EST

* AT 208 AM EST...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY 
  HEAVY RAIN OVER VERMILLION AND PARKE COUNTIES. RADAR ESTIMATED THAT
  OVER AN INCH OF RAIN HAD FALLEN BETWEEN 100 AM AND 200 AM ACROSS
  VERMILLION AND WESTERN PARKE COUNTY. THIS RAIN IS FALLING ON 
  ALREADY SATURATED GROUND.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO SEE FLOOD
WATERS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND
IMMEDIATELY.

UNTIL 615 AM EST...

AT 420 AM THUNDERSTORMS HAD DIMINISHED ACROSS THE AREA. HOWEVER MORE
THUNDERSTORMS MAY DEVELOP THIS MORNING. WEATHER SERVICE RADAR
ESTIMATED THAT THREE TO FOUR INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN SINCE 100 AM
IN PARTS OF VERMILLION COUNTY WITH TWO TO THREE INCHES ESTIMATED IN
PARKE COUNTY. FLOODING WILL CONTINUE THIS MORNING.

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES.  DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE
INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY OR PAST POLICE BARRICADES.
BE ESPECIALLY CAREFUL DRIVING AT NIGHT AS THE DEPTH OF THE WATER IS
VERY DIFFICULT TO ESTIMATE.
