EASTERN POLK COUNTY IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA * UNTIL 1045 PM EDT * AT 917 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN OVER THE EASTERN PORTION OF POLK COUNTY. RADAR ESTIMATES SUGGEST MORE THAN 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN...MAINLY IN THE AREA BETWEEN ROCKMART AND CEDARTOWN. ALTHOUGH HEAVIEST RAINS WERE MOVING OUT OF THE AREA...RUNOFF WILL LIKELY CAUSE FLOODING OF DRAINAGE SYSTEMS...CREEKS AND SMALL STREAMS. * OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE ARAGON. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.
